Driven by her desire to find solutions for sensitive skin, Queens resident Amerrah Brown began creating products using plant-based ingredients. This passion became the launchpad for her business, Beautiful Amore Skincare, which recently debuted at JFK Terminal 8 as part of URW’s Accelerator program.
Brown started making skincare products in her home more than 20 years ago under the guidance of her mother who was well-versed in holistic medicine and the power of herbs and natural remedies. She combined her love of cooking, cosmetology, and her mother’s teachings to create the foundation for Beautiful Amore Skincare.
After her mother passed away, Brown wanted to honor her by building a successful company and a lasting legacy for her six children. She tries to show her children the perseverance it takes to be an entrepreneur by giving them real-life experience at events and behind the scenes.
“Being able to expose my products to a global audience at JFK is a huge milestone for my company,” Brown said. “I want to inspire people to embrace natural beauty and wellness through high-quality, plant-based solutions. I’m grateful for the opportunity and hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams.”
Brown always had her sights set on operating in the airport which drove her to apply to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s Institute of Concessions. Through its program, she gained a tremendous education about airport operations which helped her bring her business plan to fruition.
As a Queens resident, Brown is grateful URW, and the JFK community are focused on bringing local entrepreneurs and businesses to the airport.
Brown prides herself on the quality and assortment of her products including lotions representing each of the New York City boroughs and Long Island giving travelers a unique way to bring New York home. Other items at her kiosk include body butters, lotions, oils, scrubs, vegan soaps, candles, hand sanitizers, lip butters, and hair care.
She continues to expand her line by adding a new product annually.
