AMAC LA Legacy Award Winner: Amy Benson

The Los Angeles chapter of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC LA) recently celebrated those making a difference in the industry during its Aviation Excellence Summit and Awards including our own Amy Benson, Vice President of Marketing.

The second annual event, a partnership between AMAC, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) Airports, attracted hundreds of attendees, from seasoned minority airport business owners and concessions operators to emerging local minority business owners and entrepreneurs from across Southern California. The evening concluded with a celebration honoring this year’s award winners, highlighting achievements across various sectors and functions.

Benson was awarded the LA Chapter’s Legacy Award and was recognized for her remarkable contributions to AMAC’s growth and success focused on promoting diversity and inclusion within the aviation industry. Benson’s leadership and dedication to advancing opportunities for diverse businesses has left a lasting imprint.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award,” Benson said. “My personal philosophy is ‘We rise by lifting others’ and AMAC has afforded me the resources, relationships, and stewardship to advance the good work with the hope that we each can make a difference.”

As the Executive Sponsor of URW’s award-winning Advance Network platform, Benson is committed to advancing opportunities and opening doors for local, small, and diverse businesses. Partnering widely across URW’s assets and markets, Benson finds innovative ways to welcome and support these businesses in the airports.

Through our Advance Network, we continue to grow diverse participation and representation at all levels of our airport business. We strive to not only help people enter the airport business, but, just as importantly, to find success once they arrive. We are changing the approach and model for how business is done at the airport and working to lower the barriers of entry that many ACDBE companies face. Our Supplier Diversity Network helps build our pipeline of disadvantaged businesses and connect businesses and entrepreneurs with networking and bidding opportunities.

LET'S DO BUSINESS.

With a global portfolio of premier consumer destinations–including airports, transit, and shopping centers—URW is uniquely positioned to help showcase brands at their best and connect local communities and organizations to our programs.
